WASHINGTON, May 17 /U.S. Newswire/ -- The following statement is from Michael Anthony Peroutka, Constitution Party Presidential candidate:

"Rep. Ike Skelton is seriously and dangerously mistaken when he says, as he did recently on CSPAN, that 30,000 to 60,000 more American troops should be sent to Iraq. Rep. Skelton said we have 'no choice' but to stay in Iraq and bring 'stability' there because if we do not Iraq will become a snake-pit of potential terrorists.

"I respectfully disagree. Our unnecessary war against Iraq is an unconstitutional, bloody, deadly mess that is wasting tens of billions of tax dollars and attracting thousands of terrorists from all over the world to come to Iraq to kill Americans. As President, I would move immediately to withdraw all our troops from Iraq in a way that would provide for the safety of those Iraqis who worked with us during this illegal, disastrous conflict."

Michael Anthony Peroutka will be speaking in St. Louis Tuesday, May 18, at 7:30 pm, at the Busch Student Center, at St. Louis University. His campaign themes are "God, Family, Republic." By election day, the Constitution Party -- the largest third party in the country -- will be on perhaps as many as 40 State ballots, more than Ralph Nader probably. For example, the Constitution Party is on the ballot in Oregon; Nader is not. Peroutka will most likely affect President Bush's vote more than Nader will affect John Kerry's vote.

If interested in interviewing Peroutka, please call John Lofton, 410-766-8591 or 301-873-4612 or email: JLof@aol.com.
