PASADENA, Md., July 13 /PRNewswire/ -- "I do not support sodomy-based anything no matter what form it takes," said Michael A. Peroutka, Constitution Party presidential candidate, in reference to the debate in the U.S. Senate over the Federal Marriage Amendment. "Whether it is in the form of a so- called 'marriage,' civil union or other euphemism, it is a violation of law of nature, therefore it is wrong and not something that should be recognized as legitimate by the federal government."
Peroutka stated his belief that the Federal Marriage Amendment, however well-intentioned, is unnecessary and inappropriate because, "the Supreme Court has ignored the First and Second Amendments with impunity, so there is little reason to believe they would remain obedient to a new amendment to the Constitution." Furthermore, Peroutka pointed out that the real force behind the efforts to legitimize "same-sex marriage" is not grounded in the nation's republican form of government, but instead is, "another example of judicial activism, where our constitutional form of government is replaced by judicial fiat."
Peroutka explained, "The solution to the problem of judicial activism lies in having judges who acknowledge God as the source of all law, and who will follow their oath to obey the Constitution.
"As president of the United States, I promise that I will do everything in my power to turn back the efforts of the homosexual lobby to destroy the traditional family. I also promise that I will oppose any attempts to place the institution of marriage under the control of the Federal Government," concluded Peroutka.
Peroutka's vice-presidential running mate is the Dr. Chuck Baldwin from Pensacola, Florida.
